Judy Day

Associate Professor

Biography

I am currently a joint faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am also senior personnel at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS). My primary research is focused on the development and analysis of mathematical models relating to the immune response to various stimuli and the application of control methodologies to modulate the immune response with therapeutic inputs. My interests are motivated by the potential of mathematical and engineering techniques to assist in answering vital questions in the medical field. My main objective is to conduct research within an interdisciplinary group to promote a symbiotic relationship among the various areas of expertise in hopes of acquiring results and developing tools of clinical relevance and academic significance.
