The Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) has a broad and vital mission to create, discover, and disseminate mathematical knowledge. Teaching
The Mathematics Department plays a distinctive role on the UT campus. In addition to educating the next generation of mathematicians, the Department has a critical responsibility to provide all UT students with essential mathematical knowledge and quantitative reasoning skills through service courses.
