Biography
Before enrolling in the Mathematics PhD program at the University of Tennessee, Joshua Siktar completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University (December 2018). He is beginning research in partial differential equations and numerical analysis jointly with Dr. Tadele Mengesha and Dr. Abner Salgado. He also has extensive experience mentoring undergraduate students from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and has spoken on his work with these students at international venues.
Currently he is employed by the university as a Graduate Teaching Associate, teaching various entry-level college courses, most recently the course entitled Mathematical Reasoning. He has also worked as a contractor for the Ed-Tech startup Expii.
