DNicole Yang will join the Department of Mathematics in Fall 2025 as an Assistant professor. She received her PhD degree in Statistics and Applied Probability from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2021 and was a Distinguished Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Emory University from 2022 to 2025. She has been recognized as Rising Star in Data Science by UCSD, U Chicago, Stanford in 2024. Her research has been primarily driven by the desire to study the system of interacting diffusions and the optimization of complex systems. She is interested in dynamical systems, stochastic control, mathematical foundations of generative modeling, and machine learning theory.
