What is it like to major in math at UT?
Graduating math majors from the University of Tennessee describe their experience in this word cloud.
The math major/minor at a glance
The math major consists of four basic requirements – core classes that every major will take, breadth classes that give a taste of different areas in math, depth classes that allow students to dig into one area of interest, and elective classes.
Alternately, pairing a math minor with another major is a great way to stand out. The math minor consists of core classes and three elective classes.
Math majors have the option to choose a concentration, which allows them to tailor their math degree to their interests, or they may decide not to select a concentration, which gives them the most flexibility and choice within the math major.
